Why I've been quiet here on this blog and what I'm up to now

Firstly, yes, I have had my hair cut short! Some of you may have noticed and been shocked to see me with a very short haircut. I decided to have it cut short after months of suffering with headaches, I think because my hair was tied so tightly. It was very long and the weather has been far to hot for me to wear it down so was always tied up out the way. Though I'm not sure this short haircut suits me, my head feels better, so I'm happy.

There are many reasons why I've been more quiet than usual: It's the summer holidays and my children are off school so I'm trying to spend as much time with them as possible, I've been busy working in the shop and working on some new work ventures too.

I've not been using this blog as much as usual in the past few months and that is because I've been busy building up my other blog and YouTube channel dedicated to all things homesteading. If you are not sure what a homestead is take a look here at this blog post which explains the term and what it is i mean.

The blog is called Tomatoes and Tulips, you can read more about it here. I've been blogging there for a few years now and have an Instagram with the same name where I've shared photos but I've not promoted it up until now.

You can also click here to see my NEW YouTube channel. I'd be grateful if you would subscribe to the new channel and take a look at some of the videos, I'm hoping to build the channel up and use it to document our journey as urban homesteaders whilst we are saving to purchase land or a smallholding.

The video above will give you an idea of the types of homestead vlogs to expect on the channel. I will be sharing my garden and allotment harvests, cooking and preserving and all other things related to urban homestead life.

The video below will give you an idea of the types of nature and wildlife videos to expect to find on there. As many of you will know I'm a keen academic and one of my many interests is in ecology, environmentalism and nature. I'm currently reading some really interesting books around those topics written by Dave Goulson who I also follow on YouTube, he is an amazing man and has done so much for wildlife, especially bees.

The goal it to get the new channel monetized so that it becomes a new income stream, one that we can use to save towards the land or smallholding we hope one day to invest in somewhere in or near to Seaton.

I'm still creating art with both traditional mediums and digitally with procreate, you can read more about that here and watch my YouTube videos over on the channel here.  I've finally sorted out my editing software which means the videos will be much more streamline from now on (hopefully!)

So as you can see I'm keeping very busy which is the main reason this mish-mash of a blog hasn't been updated in a while. I'd love it if you'd take a look at one or all of my other blogs though and follow those or if you are feeling extra kind subscribing to both my YouTube channels would be a massive help.

Thanks as always for reading and for your continued support.
