REVIEW
As someone who usually reads crime fiction and thrillers that are based usually in the real world this was something different to try. Though i have read what i describe as 'fantastical' fiction before it isn't something i'm usually drawn too. This series though i kept seeing on instagram and twitter recommended by book bloggers so i felt the urge to give it a try.

This was my first trip into the world of the Shadowhunters, i wasn't sure what to expect but i can honestly say that i just didn't want to leave! Though it was set initially in a recognizable world, ours, it soon became apparent that the book was going to open up a fantastical side to the world as we know it. I loved how this progressed and I fell in love with the characters, pretty much all of them. The way the book is written makes it such a wonderful smooth read. The only issue i had was i didn't want to put it down, i just wanted to spend all my time reading more and more.

When it ended i was sad to leave but so glad i purchased the whole series so i could dive straight back into the Shadowhunters world. I went on and started 'City of Ashes' as soon as i finished City of Bones the review of 'City of Ashes' will be available here soon.

If you are looking for a book that will take you away from real life and transport you to a fantastical world that you become immersed in and and don't want to leave i can highly recommend this book.

There is also a Netflix TV series based on these books which i plan to watch after reading as many of the books as i can!
