My honest review of 'The Garden Shop' in Colyton, Devon

A few weeks ago I had a rare couple of hours work & child free. The first thing I did was look for somewhere locally I could look at flowers, of course!

I was surprised to find there was a 'garden centre' in Colyton called 'The Garden Shop' Surprised because I didn't even know it was there, I guess I usually find garden centres by chance when out and about or by word of mouth but this one I found on a Google search!

It was just a short 10 minute drive from home which was great as we didn't have long, just enough time for a browse...and of course coffee.

It was a very small garden shop, I certainly wouldn't call it a garden centre though it came up on a Google search for one. Definitely more a garden shop as the name suggests.

It was wonderful though, lots of fantastic gardening related goodies, a good selection of indoor & outdoor plants (even though it is October) and some lovely gifts. I loved the displays both indoors and out, a lot of thought has obviously gone into them to make them eye catching. I particularly like this outdoor display that was made using old pallets, how clever!

There was also a cute little tea room where we stopped for coffee and cake. The coffee was lovely, the cake was too though if I'm being really honest..which I try to always be, my carrot cake was a tad dry for my taste. Jon said his Bakewell slice was perfect though.

I came home with a new hyacinth glass, more indoor Hyacinth bulbs and a sweet little indoor fern too.
