Freehand Watercolour 'Pot of Lavender' : Watercolour Pens & Pencils by Tonic Studios

I wanted to share with you today a picture of my first freehand watercolour 'Pot of Lavender' that I created when running a mini workshop at Imagine Design Create.

The workshop was 'an introduction to Watercolour pencils and pens' focusing on the Tonic Studios Nuvo range of watercolour pencils and Aquaflow watercolour pens. Everyone had a great time experimenting with the pens and pencils testing out ideas and techniques.

The feedback on both the pens and pencils was fantastic, everyone loves them! I think I have created some new Tonic Addicts!

We coloured some stamped images and then I got brave and did a freehand drawing. Everyone loved it and so had a go at recreating it themselves. It was lovely to see the different styles of the same image, one of the ladies was worried that her piece was not as 'artistic' as the others I reminded her that being creative is all about having fun and enjoying it, there is no judgment needed. We all have our own style and we all like different art and craft pieces.

I still class myself very much as a beginner so for me I just enjoyed the process and figuring out that actually even if you are not a confident freehand artist it is always worth having a go because even if you don't like what you have created, others probably will!
I would love to know what you think of my little lavender pot and if you have drawn one I would love to see a picture so feel free to link to your own in the comments!

*To those who have asked for a You Tube video of me creating this watercolour pot of lavender it is now available on my You Tube
