Hot Foiling Stamps - Go Press & Foil - Using hot foil scraps

I recently held a Hot Foiling demonstration day as i had a number of people asking how to use the Go Press & Foil machine with Hot Foiling Stamps and Hot Foils.

It was a great chance to share with others various ways of using a Hot Foiling machine and also tips on getting the most from your foils such as the technique shown in the photo here. I let a customer have a got at using up foil scraps, showing that even tiny bits of foil don't need to go to waste when using a hot foiling machine.

We used a selection of Hot Foil stamps from CraftStash, one of the best places i have found to get a good variety of designs and styles.

CraftStash also have a beautiful selection of Hot Foils in various colours.

As you can see the technique is very simple in that you place your hot foil stamps onto the hot plate, wait for them to heat up and then when ready you place your scraps in a random pattern on top (foil surface face down) next you place your chosen surface such as card and then a card shim to help with pressure. Put down the lid and then run the platform through your die cutting machine. As you can see, once removed you will be able to start carefully peeling off the foil pieces and will have a beautiful hot foiled design in a mix of foil colours left behind.

This is such a fun activity to do and creates stunning pieces for your projects.
